I've always used the rear brake for control and the front with a bit of rear for stopping.

My brother's brakes are the opposite way round, but only because he did it by accident when he built the bike. Cheeky git forgot to tell me this before he let me have a go, they were damn sensitive and powerful brakes!!! :rolleyes:
