Hi there. I'm going to change the tyres on my bike. How do I loosen and separate the brake blocks from the wheel so I can get the wheel out. There is usually a lever but not on this bike

You’ll have to release the cable by undoing the clamping hex nut.

In my experience it is necessary to both deflate the tyre and unhook the cantilever or v brakes to remove the wheel. Most of the time there is no air in the tyre when I need to remove the wheel.
