I'm certain that's the one ... it was a distinctive logo.

might have been that bike... certainly it seems to have a brand on the stay. I thought it looked a nice (=expensive) bike.

Summerdays, from your description, it sounds like a Charge Tap. They (Charge) are based in your neck of the woods (Somerset) and have the name plastered on various sections of the frame.

Thanks but I really think it was the Canyon ... I nearly said it made me think of America in my original description and it definitely had the name in a large distinctive font on the seat stay and elsewhere on the frame.

It was also a brand I had never heard of before so all the well known brands are out.
