Tin Pot

Do you have to use a bread tin?

I'm tired of kitchen clutter and don't want to buy another piece of junk.

Like those round loaves, can you just dollop it let rise then bake it on a griddle?

I have 4 bread tins that sit one inside the other, 2 mixing bowls and a cane banneton, plus a couple of flat sheets. You can shape the bread without any tin, but it takes some practice to stop it just spreading out once in the oven. I would recommend investing in one bread tin.

Here's last night's loaf, a wholemeal topped with sunflower and poppy seeds. Tastes fab.

If you've got a pot that can go in the oven, including lid, that would give you a nice round loaf. I use a Lidl enamelled cast iron pot as my Dutch oven, it works a treat.
If your dough's firm you can get away without this but it's a lifesaver with slacker doughs (as the old saying goes, the wetter the better).

You keep raising the bar!

Nah, I'm just trying out new recipes. (And I tend not to post photos of the disasters!)
