Blimey, do you have to pay in Belgium, no freebie Torygraph and mayo on chips, why would anyone live there?!

The controversy about the sale of Breaking Bad-themed toys at Toys R Us has encouraged one of the show's stars, Aaron Paul, to share his views.

As if to emulate his on-screen character, meth cook and junkie Jesse Pinkman, Paul has taken a no-holds-barred approach towards the parents who have successfully petitioned American branches of Toys R Usto remove Breaking Bad toys from their shelves and its website.

Toys R Us removed the toys from their website earlier this week, however they are still available in the adult toys department of their American stores.

Paul vented his frustrations on Twitter with comments that gathered twice as many shares than the petition had signatures.

First he questioned how damaging the Breaking Bad toys, which come complete with miniature bags of plastic meth and cash, were in comparison to Barbie dolls:

Paul then went on to critique violent video games:

He then targeted his anger at the "Florida mom" who set up the petition, with a classic Jesse-ism:

Before encouraging his followers to sign a counter-petition for a second time:

This petitionhas garnered nearly 16,000 signatures in six days and comments underneath are littered with Breaking Bad quotes and pictures. Daniel Pickett, who set up the counter-petition, champions the case for toy collectors in his petition letter, writing: "I'm a parent of a school aged child myself, but I'm an informed, responsible parent and I closely monitor the toys, TV, music, movies and games that my daughter sees.

"But, I also like toys/action figures and I want 3D representations of characters from my favourite properties, and I love being able to walk into a store and find them."

Paul's comments come after those of his co-star, Bryan Cranston, who plays Walter White in the show. Cranston had a rather more wry take on the controversy:

I thought I had found somewhat of a decent replacement for Breaking Bad in the US version of The Bridge. I watched the first two seasons over the past week or two. I was enjoying it more than about anything I have watched since Breaking Bad. Yesterday I read that the FX network is not picking it up for a third season. I will check out the Swedish series now though.

Breaking Bad was the best telly I've ever watched. I felt bereft when I watched the last one! I had bought my OH a Heisenberg mug for his birthday, it smashed the day we watched the last one - spooky!

At the minute we're working our way through the US House of Cards series.
