...pockets, why don’t cycling jerseys have them? Perhaps not for racing, I can see that, but for more general riding it would be useful to have somewhere to keep cards and small items without fumbling round the back to reach them or put them away.

Would need a zip or things will fall out. That's the advantage of the rear pockets - stuff doesn't fall out too easily and you can fit more in.

We don't have to wear cycling tops... I got a few 'thin' fleeces from Decathlon years ago that're wind proof with several useful pockets- great for colder days and have a full zip.

I don't wear cycling tops. I find to restricting. I just wear t shirts and a fleece if needed. Then I have pockets

I've got an old merino Bianchi one which has 3 pockets across the front as well as 3 at the back. Never used 'em, mind, but they're there. Is it an old timey thing that phased out when polyester/lycra came along maybe?

One of my Castelli ones has. It's a winter top that I picked up from someone on here, always thought that pocket was dead handy for the phone/wallet.

I've a Lidl jacket with one. Useful, though I do tend to forget it's there. It's a bit like those sidepockets in my rucksack, which need exploring every now and then for those ''Oh, that's where it went!'' moments.

Entirely get where you're coming from. However, radio waves at that level don't harm.

I have managed to get mine to bleed (slightly!) in the past so I wouldn't fancy having extra material/weight in that area which might increase rubbing.
