Still searching for somewhere to live. Abandoned north Devon, and north Norfolk (Holt, Wells, Blakeney, Burnham Market area) was favourite for a while until it took us seven hours to get back to Somerset after Christmas, an d we decided it was too far from anywhere.

So, we’ve refined our search to Bridport area, and maybe east Devon/south Somerset.

We’ve got mates in Bridport, and unsurprisingly they sing it’s praises, but anyone want to add their opinion? Lively town, near the coast, pretty countryside, fairly affordable. Downside, it’s farking hilly for cycling!

Thoughts please!

I'm very fond of that area. It's good cycling country, not too populated, and Bridport seems to have a pretty good vibe. Beaminster (short 'e' first syllable) is quieter, more retired folk, but still has shops and the odd pub.

I ride my motorcycle to West Bay quite a lot. I often go via Beaminster, mainly for the sound of my aftermarket exhaust going through the tunnel, little things eh.
Stunning coast road to ride between Bridport and Weymouth.

We spend quite a lot of time in Dorset during the Summer, in the caravan.
The Bridport/Beaminster area is very nice.
We could very easily live in Broadwindsor. :okay:
