Hi all,

Just a brief thanks for all the responses to this question. Sounds like it is a lot safer than I was thinking. Thinking about it, I guess at peak times it would be given the number of users.

As it happens, I've accepted a job that doesn't involve the path. However, I did ask (there was a thread on here about whether you should or shouldn't) about cycle facilities and the interviewer was delighted to show me them on my tour, even though he never used them.

As an aside, South Glos are currently advertising a new route into Town for anyone interested. It's part of their "Cribbs to Town" route - it goes around the MOD, through St. Werburghs and appears on Bond Street. A number of houses along the route all got free leaflets, but I'm sure you can find them online.

Thanks once again ,

How can a Cribbs to town route go via the MOD and St Werburghs....? not saying that the Concorde route (whatever they have called that route) isn't useful but not if your start point is Cribbs!

At the risk of upsetting people - when I used to live in Bristol - St Werburghs was somewhere you avoided if you wanted to keep your bike in your own possesion.....

St Werburgh's is fine (I've locked my bike up there before)... most dodgy area I've been in is Hartcliffe ... where I actually had someone eye up my bike (that I was holding), walk across the road looking at it all the whole time and at the last moment look up at me and walk the other direction. I found out that my friend who I was waiting for, had a similar encounter as well. Every other area of Bristol I have felt fine with my bike.
