Great acheivment. Neil Campbell has set a new cycling speed record of 174mph on a special £15,000 bike based on a tandem. He beat the previous record of 164mph set by a Dutchman in 1994;

Edit - He set a men's record. Still a massive achievement but he'd have to head to the States to get a flat space big enough to go for the overall record; which he may do.

No matter how good the slipstream you couldn't get to that speed on pedal power.
