So you can receive 10% off from Halfords & CRC. Also a % off sis & Muc off products. Say if you bought muc off from Halfords would you get a double discount?
What have you been buying with your B.C discounts?

Sadly not, and there have been many reports on here about inconsistent application of the BC discount at Halfords. Previously I've had it applied to pretty much everything I've bought from there, including stuff for the car.

Funnily enough, I was in there this very weekend, speaking to someone who has been there a couple of years and knows me.

He advised that they've scaled it right back to bikes / cycling goods only, and it might not apply to price match / sale / reduced goods.
He then suggested it would depend who serves you, hinting perhaps that it might still be available in some instances...;) (The discount is applied manually at the till and some staff struggle to work it out)

Still, I can't complain as I've had much, much more than my membership fee back in discounts in previous years.

They've also changed the Bike Care Plans and they're now only available on "Halfords bikes" when you could buy one for any bike previously - presumably this includes bikes bought from Cycle Republic and Tredz, but you'd be as well to check if you're interested.

As for the Muc-Off discount, I can't recall an occasion where I've needed something and their online shop (with discount) has been cheaper than elsewhere.

BC have been doing their damnedest to irritate me, since HSBC got involved. I used to get paid for my time, not any more, I used to get decent kit, for free, not any more, I used to be asked to lead 5 rides, it’s now 8. Now this? Well they can go and whistle, as far as I’m concerned. I’ll be sacking them off.

Blimey, you've definitely got a downer on Benedict Cumberbatch.

British Cycling has also changed the way in which you receive your discount. You first need to log on the site and get a code which you then show as well as your card.

Seems a bit of a faff for me, especially for some spur of the moment investments.

Evans Cycling still offer 10% across the board, as above you need to get a one time code.

Not just BC. CTC, sorry Cycling UK have said the same . You have to log on to get the latest monthly discount code. It changes every month from the 1st of October.

I've always just shown my card in store - they've applied it to price match too.

I'm looking to get some Thule roof bars for new car. They are to hold Thule 598 bike racks which I bought from Halfords and got 10% discount off. Could I get discount for roof bars as they will be for bikes I wonder?

Yes, I did the same and got the discount without query - it was last summer though, so before the latest rule change, but they're still a cycling product aren't they? ^_^

I got 10% off roof bars but as above I think it depends on which branch and which member of staff serves you.

I might get them to fit cross rails and refit the bike racks thus proving they are cycling related and getting them fitted properly. I know it's Halfords but didn't have a problem when they fitted them onto old roof bars.
