Late to this, but I just scored
12 (an 'A-).
I got the rationing one wrong as I answered 'Margarine' thinking it was a trick question (was it even about at the time?).
Also, how the heck would I know what George II looked liked, and as for Henry the 8th's wives..... I never did English history at school!
What else was there.... Oh yes, votes for woman, I said 1924, and the oldest University? I said Cambridge.
There was another I think, but I cannot remember what it was now.. .... Oh yeah, George VI's real name. I said 'Edward'.
Likewise. Gutted that I got the year that the Americans declared independence incorrect.
I always remember it from an episode of the Simpsons where the teachers at Springfield Elementary were remembering the Bicentenary in class and we learned that one of the bullies, Kearney Zzyzwicz had been held back so many years (about 20 years at the time) that he remembered it too.
He also has a 6 year old son (Kearney Zzyzwicz jnr) (and possibly another unnamed older kid), is divorced, drives a Honda, smokes, drinks, and yet is still only supposedly a 5th grader!
Once you do the maths of figuring out just how old Kearney would be, particularly in relation to the school setting and the associated characters, then you don't forget it in a hurry.
