Broccoli....what is it good for...?

Broccoli. It's pretty nasty and bitter, isn't it?

What do you people reckon?

Gives me wind.Is that good or bad?

Perhaps the Scots will find a way to batter it and deep fry it.
Why? The Japanese have mastered that.

One of my favourite veg as long as it ain't overcooked.

For Purple Sprouting though try this way of cooking it,
Gently fry 3-4 cloves of crushed/chopped Garlic and half a dozen Anchovies in a saucepan in 1TBS of Olive Oil (the oil the Anchovies are in is fine)
Add a good splash of boiling water then whack in the trimmed Purple Sprouting Broccoli cover with the saucepan lid and shake well so the Broccoli is coated then allow to steam for 4 minutes.
Great with Lamb chops and new Potatoes and maybe Carrots :hungry:

I cook Asparagus the same way. :becool:

That sounds delicious but with one proviso....

After cooking, throw the broccoli in the bin and eat the anchovies and garlic :hungry:
