broke into a car tonight

This evening while washing mine and Mrs.Lawsons cars I had a panic from a neighbour with a ford ka, keys, purse, house keys and dog all locked in car.
So, with a bit of strong fence wire I managed to feed it thro a gap in the drivers door and open the rear hinged window, then fed the wire in and hooked the keys from the back seat.
This weekend,.........

I am the local hero :-D

My wife locked our baby daughter in the car with the keys on the passenger seat. She had to call the police to breakin.

I carry a ResQme tool on my keyring, although it breaks the window, for emergencies, it is worthwhile.

Over twenty years ago I was windsurfing in an isolated part of Essex when one of the group i was with found she had locked her car keys in the boot after operating the central locking then closing the boot. Tried very hard to get the car open but failed and I had to give her a lift back home to Ipswich to pick up her spare keys. In gratitude she asked me round for dinner and one thing led to another and then to our twentieth wedding anniversary this week. Result! Might not have happened if I'd been a better at breaking into cars.
