Thanks for the kind words and support folks. Been told I have the weekend in hospital, and going on IV steroids tomorrow. On the plus side my consultant has spoken to a histologist who is interested in what is happening with my muscles, so hopefully I will be going to have a muscle biopsy when things calm down and maybe even find out what is causing this.
In the meantime I will live my rides through others on here, and if I can get away with it perhaps build up a new bike. .

On the plus side I have free wifi and a telly, so able to occupy myself through the weekend. ..
You can get your cycling fix on ITV4 at 9pm Woman`s tour. day 3 of 5 today and if you use the free wifi you can get the ones you miss on ITV catch up on the web site the first 2 days are already up.

So sorry you're going through this! Rhabdo is nasty, I'm just getting over kidney problems and I understand how bad this is. 100% take care of you.

I don't know if anyone's advised about a gluten free diet. It helps the body when the whole thing kicks your immune system around.

Don't loose heart, you'll get past this and go on to be great.

Take care!

Bright eyed and buzzing I am, at 4:30 in the morning:hyper:
Haven't slept a wink so far tonight, I guess loads of steroids and morphine makes me hyper. On the plus side it isn't hurting at the moment:smile:

Get well soon.

For even more of a cycling fix do you have a subscription to eurosport player? Giro and the Amgen tour on over this weekend

Thankfully the nausea cleared by local lunchtime, but only after taking anti sickness pills. The steroids seem to have been a success, my CK count dropped from 14000 yesterday to 9004 today and as a result I'm mobile faster than I have been on the 2 previous occasions. Fingers crossed I'm still getting out of hospital on Monday.

What a difference a day can make. After a good day yesterday, I woke this morning in pain. On the plus side, more blood test results from this morning show my CK down to 5200 so at least that's going the right way. Hopefully I will be discharged tomorrow, and over the coming weeks I guess the dreaded turbo trainer will be put to use once again.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
No where near as bad as you , i am off doing any upper body work atm as my right thumb arthritis is playing up and my left hand trapped nerve is playing silly feckers again so its rest and cycling has taken a back seat this weekend as constant tingling is not a good start before riding .The problem is not bike set up but a trapped nerve and physical job that i can manage normally as long as i keep on top of my physio exercises but just having an off time so hopefully back to it soon.
Nothing compared to your issues and i wish you a full recovery if possible.
