My Dad wouldn't let me have one of those, when I was a kid. Said that they were dangerous. My cousin had one and fell off, for no apparent reason, and broke his leg. Maybe they were, maybe cousin was being a pratt though.
Very collectable now. One of my clients has 6 of them in various states of refurbishment.
