Broken Forks, narrow escape, bruised ego

On the way home tonight just moving off from the lights at the junction of booth st and oxford rd my bars feel realy loose and my wheel turns me into the middle of the junction, arse over tit in the middle. Very scary as I could have been squashed
Im sure every motorist was beaming with delight as they saw my clown bike moment

Anyway, picked my self up and found forks have bust within the head tube somewhere, dropped bike at a bikeshop nearby and got rescued by the missus.

Yikes - take solace from the fact that it didn't happen this morning on the way in... we seemed to be doing a pretty reasonable pace once we hit the Chester Road.

it was my daily ribble fixed, the forks i got of someone on here this time last year.
They have been hammered though and were of very basic quality.

Same thing happened to me a few years back with my old gas pipe Raleigh frame and forks. I'd just gone through the lights onto the big roundabout on Wolverhampton ring road in rush hour when I felt them go; fortunately I managed to wobble to the side of the road before they went completely.
