I will get some pics of the damage later for your viewing pleasures.

Also thinking of purposing this bike and having it as a track only and getting some more track time in next year. Will check specs first.

Glad you are in one piece - shame the bike gave out under you like that!

You'll have to think of the BB height for track use

Glad it was just the ego that was bruised (and no doubt your wallet) Really happy to hear you escaped otherwise intact...well done

So what causes a fork to just "go" like that? is it old age? fast riding?

also, in hindsight, did you "feel" anything that gave you a warning, like was the bike running a little loose at the front?

there was some stiffness just beforehand and I should have taken note but I put it down to the high cross wind against the deepv rims.

ttcycle, i wil measure it but i would have thought it will be right as its a ribble track frame and as that closest track to ribble valley is mcr it should be ok.

That should be ok but worht checking- it's just some manufacturers use the word track for bikes that are actually road fixed bikes. you might have to use shorter 165mm cranks as some velodromes have that as a standard rule. Good luck- hope it isn't too costly!

yes, i think i have some 165mm cranks somewhere, I also have a nice pair of track forks too, will need a new powder coat though, think i might go for white to go with the white ribble lettering

should i use the current wheels? deep vs rear is 36h though

give it a shot and see how you go with the wheels that you have at the moment and see how you go otherwise you can end up spending an absolute fortune- is the Ribble frame similar to the Dolan- can't see it on their website. Can you tell I have the friday feeling?! If you're just getting on the track for fun rather than racing seriously then go as you want! White forks....ok...each to their own!

lovely little bike! Great colour. Should serve you well on the track but get one of the guys that run the MCR velodrome or look on their website to check it out before you fully convert it but don't foresee there being any issues if you're going up to get some fun riding in.

Happy days!

ooh - glad you actually didn't get too hurt as that could have been potentially very nasty
