Broken Thumb

Broke my left thumb in an accident at work and just wondered if i should still get out on the bike.
I am wearing a splint and i am not in that much pain.
I am gagging to get out with the nice weather we are having but i am also concerned that it would not do my injury a lot of good

What did the doctors say at the fracture clinic? Which joint is broken? I would think if splinted, a broken thumb would be less troublesome riding than other fingers, assuming it's a roadbike on the hoods. I guess you can on,y see if 'that much pain' is 'too much pain'. Although you are voicing concerns, so you might be best off having a week's rest

I did see the x-rays and i think it was near the top of the thumb.
I suppose the only time i would have to use my thumb would be to change the front derallier as i have thumb shifters on my giant.

Just do a flat route, and don't stray too far. Take some pain meds. I expect you may find putting mitts on painful!
