Brompton pricing advice please

Hi
I’m looking to sell my barely used 3 speed purple haze Brompton to a friend. No clue what a fair price would be and none on eBay or anywhere else. Any suggestions much appreciated

Could you tell us what make and model and how old it is and how many miles and care it has had? What does your friend want to pay for it?

Hi thanks for such a prompt reply.
I’ve no idea what model it is, it’s a Brompton with 3 gears that I’ve hardly used, so very few miles tbh.
My friend has just asked what I want for it but I’ve no clue what would be fair to both of us. I gather purple haze is a colour that was discontinued and is possibly quite sought after.
I’ve got a bag for it and a lap top bag too.

You cant have looked very hard, there are quite a few, maybe not your exact model. Here's a 2020 'new' 6 speed still in box which should give you an idea.

Bromptons hold their price very well and new are hard to get hold of right now so you can pretty much name your own price or whatever you consider fair.

£1300ish delivered seems to be the going rate for a 6 speed model in the same paint and condition. Tip: when searching eBay, filter by sold items. e.g

Take off the near 15% for PayPal and eBay fees and £200 for 3 speed instead of 6, you might see £900-£1000 for your bike sold through eBay, with all the hassle that entails. The price you set for your mate will depend on what it’s worth to you (the friendship )

edit: is the bike a matt purple or metallic per the link above? the metallic seems to go for a lot more, if matt it’s probably closer to the prices the standard colours go for (less)
