Yesterday I took the opportunity to weigh my Brompton. Spec is 2007 superlight, originally 2 speed. I've done a DIY conversion to fit 3 sprockets, also a cartridge BB and Spa double crank with 36/52 rings and a front derailleur. With this new spec and including pump (inside the seatpin), toolkit (Temu copy) a spare inner tube inside the frame, and a handlebar phone holder, the weight is 10.52KG. I realise it's not in the 'Helium' territory, but that seems pretty good to me. ^_^

Mine will be a bit more. It's a superlight with 6-speed and rack. Weighs a lot more than my son-in-law's 2-speed all-titanium. But I don't worry that much. As I understand it, the idea is, in this order, to:
  1. Ride it.
  2. Wheel it fully assembled.
  3. Wheel it part folded with the saddle up (though I don't do that much).
  4. Drag it on the Easy Wheels.
  5. Carry it.
Weight only matters in the last two, and only comes fully into play on point 5.
