Has anyone tried this new Brooks saddle

Not tried one but had a look at one in a shop last week. The fabric top seems very rough compared to the super smooth leather of a regular Brooks and I'd be concerned about friction discomfort. Having said that, the rubber main part looks ok and I'd be interested to see reports from real world users in due course.

They were giving them away for test riders. I applied but failed. I think they would look good on a Brompton, but I like my Imperial.

I like the concept but the colour is wrong for me and to be honest the B17 Standards I use on both my bikes are ideal and nicely 'worn in', not that I had to do anything for that anyway! I also applied to try the pre-release versions too but no luck. Not seen/read any reviews either.

I've been looking at these for my N+1 Mercian which might be on the cards. But I'm steering more towards a San Marco Regal.

Not tried one but quite like the look of it (if I could afford to splash out around £120 of course). Particularly like the idea of a Brooks that doesn't need to be protected from the rain.

I've just stumbled across another review on Gizmodo. They seem pretty positive about it.

Resurrecting a thread rather than creating a new one. Is there any further experience of these saddles? I'm thinking of buying one for Lelly.

I have bought one (a black one) for my CX, and I find it actually very comfy! My LBS had a test saddle that they loaned for a week so I could try it.

It can flex quite a lot in the middle as it's only supported at the front and back. Since there is no extra padding on it at all, that's where the comfort comes from.
