Well I think today may have been my last morning in summer commuting kit (ss top, shorts, fingerless mitts). It was right on the edge of being uncomfortable. BBC said 8C but it felt a little cooler than that, could have been the wind I suppose.

Wet here too, so full waterproofs and long finger gloves. Summer kit went weeks ago for me. L/S base and top.

I've gone to full-finger gloves and a jacket (for the mornings) but the shorts are still there. Won't be long before I need something to keep my ears warm though...

Full finger gloves, shorts, ss shirt and night vision jacket. Was warm enough, but may be too warm for the trip home.

That's the plan for the rest of winter. Hopefully the gloves and jacket can go in my backpack for the journey home for a few weeks yet!!

I'm finding it's inbetween weather at the moment.

full gloves are too warm after 5 mins but fingerless are too cold at the start.

Mornings are cold and require a gillet, but evenings dont.

I am using 3/4 shorts to keep my knees warm, but they are too hot once I get up to speed.

I tend to run hot, so I try to wear the least I can get away with, and subscribe to the view that I need to be too cold for the first mile otherwise I will be too hot once I warm up.

Spring is only 6 months away!!

Incidentally, if you're a Scrabble player, 'brrr' is spelt with three 'r's- not two or four (or any other number, for that matter). I wonder who chose that? I reckon that the number of 'r's should be in direct proportion to the shrinkage factor.

6 degrees here this morning so for the first time I had leggings, gloves and my winter jacket on. Just a t shirt underneath though. It's a beautiful sunny day so I may be too warm on the way home. It's difficult to get the balance right at this time of year.

There's nothing like positive thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Spanish designer in our studio has been complaining (in a very comical way) about the British winter. She is (apparently) not fussed that its cold...nor damp or even that everything is so grey...its that it lasts so "Bloudy Longh"

She is used to winter lasting about 2-3 months!!

8 degrees here in Derby - about a 10 degree shift down from the weekend! Had to wear slightly longer shorts this morning.

Shorts - no way. Like to keep the knees warm, and my lightweight bibs aren't going to make much difference.

Long finger gloves - got my MTB ones on - so not too warm. Not cold enough for the windproof soft shell.

The spikes are going on the MTB soon - frosts indicated for Manchester Weds pm/Thurs am.

In the Autumn I resist the warm kit for as long as possible, then in Spring I find I hang on to the warm kit until it gets way too warm.
