Nice job looks very nice “The Renowned Raleigh Worksop Facility” I think you mean Carlton Cycles Your frame being 531 was probably built in the Special Build Section at Carlton Cycles on Kilton Road. Most run of the mill Raleigh frames were mass built in The Nottingham Factory and delivered in via special trailers at Carlton Cycles on Eastgate built up then went out the same way to dealers for export ex

Thanks all. And Flier: I bow to your superior knowledge! You're quite right of course. Do you mean that all Raleighs of the time were built up at Carlton? And by the way, the original forks were not 531 and were damaged (see below) so I replaced them with those you see, from a Dynatech.

Nope but a lot of the run of the mill Raleigh racers were delivered to Carlton as painted frames and put together there then shipped out.Raleigh had their own special build section at Ilkeston where a lot of Carlton’s best guys ended up inc my Dad after Raleigh shut Carlton Cycles a very sad time for Worksop Quite a lot of nice Carlton’s went out of Worksop badged up as Raleigh Cycles especially to the USA Market
