Oh my god! Hahaha! I've joined this forum as I enjoy cycling and wanted to share my experiences with this community...And this i have to say is THE most ridiculous thing I have ever seen and I am highly disappointed!! Firstly, MASSIVE POINT neither yourself or the bus are by any means touched, secondly the poor girl has PLENTY of room on her left hand side making it a perfectly decent move to make, and thirdly do you seriously have nothing better to do!
She's on her driving lesson for gods sake, your not the cycling police and even if you were they would not bat an eyelid at what she is doing.
Get over yourself! I learnt to drive as I'm sure most people on here have done, so have a bit of respect, the use of the word 'bint' is extremely inappropriate. No need for bullying on such forums, your bringing the quality of these discussions down and you should be ashamed. Fair enough if it was a qualified driver who knocked you and the bus etc, but it wasn't. If your going to keep your helmet camera on then put it to better use!

I think 400bhp has nailed it: the instructor was taking advantage of a safe and (what should have been) stress-free opportunity to help a learner get to know the size of the car, when they were distracted by a cyclist turning it into a stressful lesson.

You sign up a few mins ago just to say that creative comment.
How about next time make a comment that is constructive and also not be already blatantly said by most members.
"Get a life"... what next? Your mom insults...

Exactly, can't see the problem. If she was to close, move you bike a pace to the right. Not exactly heavy.

Half the people round here don't know the width of their cars and drive ten feet from cars parked up the side of the road. Teach them early and they will be better drivers later hopefully.

I can't seem to find the video on YouTube anywhere, funny that. Obviously someone else also agrees its an unfair video to post.

Yes exactly, you can't find it if your joe bloggs just searching on YouTube.com. Never a bad thing to keep the public from ridiculing this poor girls driving lesson, especially when she does no wrong.

Don't think the incident is particularly bad. If I had been cycling I may have just moved slightly to the right to give some more distance between me and the car.

It does strike me as a really odd manoeuvre for the instructor to allow though. Why creep up beside a cyclist to gain a few feet? And then squeeze inbetween the kerb and the bus? I wouldn't do either if I was driving in this situation - what happens if the bus moves forward (lights change for instance) whilst creeping up the inside with inches to spare, and the bus moves slightly left? Is this really teaching good driving?

See above - the instructor was just taking advantage of an opportunity to teach something useful instead of just sitting in a traffic queue. Thumbs-up to the instructor for making the most of the time, thumbs-down to the cyclist for acting like a prat.

Surely the size of the car could be better illustrated with reverse parking - especially into a car park space? Presumably the instructor was telling the pupil what to do, and encouraged her to edge past a vulnerable road user (although I don't think it was dangerous just a bit pointless) and then squeeze past a bus to get to a red light. OK so it might give her a better indication of the size of the vehicle, but it hardly teaches her to read the road ahead and drive defensively.
