Then there was Syd Barrett - the guy who had a bike and was in Pink Floyd.

Another late but great.

I remember sneaking a Buddy Holly "record" in to school and the (classically trained) music teacher enthused over the "syncopated percusion".

Anybody else remember Don McLean singing about Buddy's plane crash ? The Day The Music Died !

Pete de Freitas - good call. Ian McCulloch once described Ocean Rain as the best album ever. He wasn't far wrong!

;)

Fab Foodie

Curtis Mayfield, Jim Croce, John Entwhistle. Kirsty McColl too...and that bloke from INXS
Unfortunately Pete Docherty's still with us...well bodily at any rate...

Oh Bonj! Stop being all so ironic!

Didn't Robert Palmer die during a midweek holiday in Paris? I always found that rather comforting, rock superstar goes on mini-break to France. There's hope for us all.

Sure do John, Takes me waaaay back. Just had to dig it out and play it again -!! We used to take sheet music of the latest "hits" to school for the music teacher to play on the school piano. Lost a bit in the translation though:smile:
