More wheels than sense
I'm a fan of Sennheiser headphones. I use theirs at that price point in my portable player and have no complaints unlike the off brand and Sony models

I have some Tao-Tronic Wireless Earphones off Amazon, ratings seemed too good to be true, but i can confirm i have used them for 5 months, battery life last for 6-8 hours before a quick half hour charge. Numerous earpieces to fit your lug-holes. £20 bargain!!

The drivers are huge so they aren't that good if you want to lie down on the pillow with them, or wear them inside a crash helmet, but they are the best sound I have had from this sort of price range. They have been screwed up 100's of times in my bag and are still perfect. I've had Senheisers, Panasonic, unbranded before and none of them were a patch on these in terms of sound quality or build quality.

Some reviewers have said they are too Bassey. I don't find that, but there is usually the option to turn the Bass down on one's device anyway.

A Minging Manc...
I have a set of these - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00V0JYQ50 which I think I have been using for over a year now. Decent sound (IMO) waterproof and secure fit so great for a sweaty work-out or other physical activities. They are also a good fit in the ear with different sized plugs supplied to ensure a good fit and seem to avoid most wind noise when worn on the bike (controversial I know!).
The waterproof claim seems genuine. I have worn them on many occasions for a rain drenched commute and they haven't suffered in the slightest. Not too expensive at a little over £20. For some reason, the green/grey option I bought seems to have rocketed to £40+! I am sure I will have paid no more than approx. £20 for them and probably chose that colour as it was the cheapest option at the time

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
I had pair like the ones @Electric_Andy uses. I don't remember the sound quality being bad but I do remember them sticking half a mile out of my ears and falling out due to their weight.

I bought these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CBU0IV8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_2R22zb35JZWEV in March this year after having a few Creative earphones fail.
Quite possibly the best ones I've used. Nice treble and plenty of bass. The cable used is kinda on the thin side but so far nothing's snapped. They stay in my ears better than anything I've tried so far too.

A word to the wise...there's a lot of fakes out there, so if you order them online, make sure you listen carefully when they arrive. Anything a tenner or more should sound 'surprisingly good'; if it doesn't, it's probably a cheap knock-off, and will sound poor and break soon.
