Can someone help me out here please? I have come to a dilemma. I bought a set of bullhorns and a set of SRAM TT500 reverse brakes. They won't fit in the horns because the diameters aren't compatible. Can I bore out the diameter a little to get them to fit or does that jeopardize the integrity of the handlebars?

Thanks,
Nate

I'd buy some bars with the correct internal diameter for peace of mind.

Do you have receipts for either, if so take both parts back to the shop(s) and they will help you sort out matching items. If you got them on eBay then start filing.

I did get them from ebay but the thing is is that I had to replace the stem too. If I switch to a different size then I have to switch that too. That's no good for me. But I did look at something else. The point where the stem holds the bars is flared in comparison to the rest of the bars. Can I safely assume that the diameter ISN'T the same all the way across?

The internal diameter will not be the same all the way across. You'd have some pretty heavy handlebars if it was.

Welcome to the world of mismatching.

CAn you not work the other way round and file down the bosses on the brakes?
