So, I thought I had quite a comfy saddle, but recently I've been getting a bit of chaffing on my right groin, specifically just to the right (or left) of where my balls attach to my undercarriage. It's kind of like every time I pedal my groin area is rubbing/rocking on the side of the saddle and causing this.

So what can this tell me? Is my saddle too wide? Too short? Wrong shape? Wrong shorts? Wrong bum? Balls too big? Saggy balls? :-/ Is this information useful to any degree.

What sort of distance does the issue occur after? I have to use chamois cream on rides of 60+ miles or tend to get chaffing as you describe.

Your balls are rocking on the side of the saddle?
Spare us the details on a family forum but since you offer Balls too big? Saggy balls as possible causes
there may be a way to deal with this, (look away anyone squeamish) if you run a line of strong thread
woven neatly under your scrotum and attach each end of the thread to the corners of your mouth you will
be able to adjust the pain/enjoyment level depending on your smile.

It's more noticeable the day after. Usually ride around 20 miles a day

Hmm, that sounds a bit short to be the issue. I clearly have no idea how much you sweat but are you showering after the ride to get ride of any salt left on your skin? If left in place it could start to irritate.

Every thread I start, starts serious and descends into this lol.

No sweaty bum. Bib shorts could potentially be too large now though?

Do you use chamois cream on your rides? If not slap some of that on that should sort your cojones out.

Can the pad move around your body? If so, then it doesn't fit correctly and the sweaty pad will abrade you. Get clothing that fits. Cream may temporarily reduce friction but might not suffice.

I'm still struggling to think how you're grinding in the way described. Is the saddle llevel? Checked with a spirit level? Does it have a slight dip in front of the sit bone points to allow space for the dangle like some do? What saddle is it?

Prologo Kappa 2. This is very much a new thing. I think I've had this discomfort before, but over much larger distances. Say 40 miles in one hit. My saddle isn't level, it has a very slight dip, which was introduced as I find it more comfortable. To be honest, the pad kind of 'hangs' off my arse if you know what I mean. The Lycra isn't being pulled taught at the back of the shorts to keep it on my bum, and if anything it slides forward. This is unravelling quite nicely now isn't it. Sounds like bibs.

No, it's purposely dipped forward for comfort. If I have it straight, I feel a generous amount of pressure on my perineum. I don't think that the saddle doesn't suit me, I think that I suit a saddle which is gently nose down.

I had a similar issue where chaffing occured in the area you describe - it hadn't been an issue previously but developed over time and happened with the same short/saddle combination (and across multiple short/sadllde combinations) that previously hadn't been an issue. I don't know what caused it but using 'Body Glide - Chamois' cured it. It's like chamois cream in a stick form (think deodorant stick) so it doesn't involve the mess but seems to work well.

I don't necessarily want to mask the problem to be honest. I think I'll try bibs first. See if they make any difference, if not, then maybe some cream. It just seems a bit odd and uncomfortable lathering my undercarriage up with cream just to go on a bike ride.
