Well over here it is s-con. In Scotland it is s-coon as in tattie scoon which we call potato bread or slims! All good grub which ever way it is pronounced.

As a Staffordshire man (despite my current location) I am a Midlander and therefore not prone (or is that pron?) to the extremes of pronunciation found in the north or south. Ergo the only correct answer can come from a Midlander:

It's scone, to rhyme with stone. The only exception is if one is terribly posh, in which case "scon." This is why the joke, "What's the fastest cake in the world?" must have originated at a public school
