I was working at a homeless hostel, on a night shift, many years back. The other member of staff noticed a chap in the CCTV breaking into a car in our carpark.
I legged it out there and confronted the thief, who pushed past me with the car stereo in his hands. I gave chase and the thief ran down a dark alley. I was part way down the alley after him when he stopped, tuned and faced me. I couldn't tell in the dark but he might have had a weapon in his hand or it could just have been the stereo but I decided at that point it wasn't my fight.
It wasn't even my car, it turned out to be a pool car the parent company had left in our car park.
