Butlins Here I Come

Having been denied the opportunity to go to Butlins in my childhood, I've now booked a weekend at the start of December at the Skegness resort.

Three nights with dinner and breakfast for two people for £240 seems like good value for money and there's a folk festival thrown in for good measure.

Hey hang on i have been to Butlins Skegness a few times.It's a resort---a last resort.

Not many people know yet but Butlins are sponsoring Leeds United this year.


They have a lot in common.Like Butlins Leeds season finishes in October also.

I worked at Butlins Skeggy summer 1988... Oh those were some of the best days of my life!!

To put a different angle on it.

A weekend festival for two involving camping costs around £170 plus food and drink. In December it would be very cold and probably miserable. Seeing the bands in comfortable indoor venues and having warm, dry and draughtproof accommodation with breakfasts and dinners included is good value in my books.

As for pie....

I might explore Skegness on the Saturday to locate a vendor or two of porcine comestibles. Some fellow pie lovers will be going too so there's a good chance that pie will feature somewhere in the weekend's activities.

Skeggy must be mad. First time I went to Seggy it took me longer to there than the actual stay. Best of luck Vernon.
