Not many contibutions to this Vernon - I think everyone else is cogitating the juxtaposition of the words

Butlins - Skegness - Winter

Butlins.....sticky carpets, soggy chips and snooker.

I've stopped in Butlins at Skeggy in Winter 4 times in the last 5 years. Do you know whether you're stopping in the gold, silver or bronze chalets? The gold are the furthest away from the main area, so if you're there, make sure you've got a decent coat with you. It will mean that you won't be able to hear Jaks club empty out at 3 in the morning either.

It's not a bad resort, don't expect cheap beer (however the bars have started selling real ale in bottles, so you can bring your own and consume whilst listening to the music without them being much the wiser ), and you've no chance of hiring a bike .

I see from the link that The Steve Gibbons Band are playing an acoustic set, they're a great live band! :becool:

I see it as a pretty nice folk festival with a holiday camp thrown in. I'm not sure that I'll enjoy the Wurzels uless thaeir live show is better than their recorded materials.
