Hello everyone.
I have a Scott P6 (700c tyres) which I would like to buy a trainer for but I don't want to spend too much for now.

I'm currently looking at a new Minoura B60 for £85 or this used CycleOps for £70. I'm leaning towards the former because it is new but I'm really interested in what you guys think.

It also would be great if you have any ideas on new / used alternatives that are better, cheaper or both.

Advice will be appreciated.

I got a good one from Halfords of all places. it was reduced to £75 and if your a member of british cycling you get 10% off. it has a 5 stage resistance setting but you will need a riser and it comes with a skewer for the rear wheel

Buy a used one because loads of people buy them, hate them and then sell them, so there are usually always bargains to be had.

That way if you also hate it you should probably get your money back selling it on, but if you buy new then sell you'll lose ££'s

First of all, why do people hate them?
The reason I asked about the Minoura and the CycleOps is because there's only a £15 difference between the two so what I really want to know is; which one is better.

These are the links to the 2 trainers:
CycleOps Classic Mag
Minoura B60-R

I have the tacx satori or whatever its called, sometimes on offer at decathlon for just over 100 with riser and DVD its a great turbo with 10 increment resistance and fairly quiet for what it is. All turbos are awful to use but in a good way  buy a sufferfest video from their website and you'll enjoy it even more....or less!!

I got one for about £60 off Amazon for my daughter and it was fine.... If you are fussy about quality then the ones with an oil bath are slightly smoother and quieter.
