The temperature was 3c so we cut the hooligan ride down to a quick 16 miles around Clitheroe at a good pace. The muscular heat generated wasn't really keeping up with the windchill so it took me an hour or so to warm up when we got home. Must try a proper windproof jacket this weekend; it's difficult to get the clothing layers right especially when you're using a new winter jacket.

I had the same problem on my ride yesterday afternoon. It was 5.4C here when I was coming back so I cut my ride short.

I am going to have to wear my heavy duty Endura jacket on my Waddington ride on Saturday. The forecast is for <= 6C but feeling barely above freezing with a cold wind from the N.

I was out and about yesterday, the temperature was 2.5'C when I set off out and it peaked around 8'C, I had a long sleeved base layer on, Dhb shorts with windproof / padless cycling over trousers, neoprene overshoes, my new soft shell jacket, sealskin gloves and a neck buff. I was warm as toast but the jacket was soaked with sweat across the shoulders by the time I got home.
