Hi,
Im flying with Thomas Cook to mallorca, i've checked the website and there doesnt seem to be any restrictions on these items in hand luggage or in your luggage for the hold.

Does anyone have any recent experience of doing this ?

Cheers

We've never had a problem taking them, five return trips so far, never been an issue. Packed in the cycle box/bag.

Just to help with consensus: use a pump.

Two of the Lads at work flew with Ryan Air to Italy this year, and on the way back the women on check in made them un-pack the bikes to prove they had let the air out of the tyres ! , So never presume anything when it comes to pressurised items on a plane.

This business with deflation tyres for unpressurised holds is laughable. The max pressure differential would only be 14.7PSI, and as most planes don't fly right out the atmosphere the maximum is usually only 3 or 4 PSI at the very worst. If we each rushed out to our bikes now and pumped in an extra 4 pounds I bet not one would fail.

The aircrafts own tyres manage it ok.

Don't get me started on this old chestnut. An aircraft is pressurised to 10,000 feet to ensure that there's enough oxygen for people to breathe. Do cylists' tyres explode when they ride over an Alpine col at 10,000 feet? No they don't. Even if a tyre did explode, would it endanger the aircraft? No it wouldn't.
