C2C on my own...Recommend?

Certainly there are lots of possible Coast to Coast routes, but when folks refer to "The Coast to Coast", I think they usually mean the Sustrans C2C. Which, incidentally, Sustrans say means "Sea to Sea".

I would like to cycle the C2C but there is no one who wants to do it with me.
That doesn't bother me too much as i'm quite happy in my own company.
I am aware though that the journey isn't always going to be plain (cycling) sailing so the question is.....
Has anyone on here cycled the C2C on their own? Any problems? Mishaps? Advice?
Probably do it next year so i can build up my fitness and save the dosh needed to maintenance, B&B, train fares, food etc....

I did C2C last weekend. Full write up here if you want to take a look, including accommodation details for where we stayed and details of the hills 😬

In all seriousness it is manageable on your own, but it would have been much less enjoyable for me without my 3 cycling mates (and 1 support mate) spurring each other on.

Mobile signal does become very intermittent on Day 2.

I dont know what the cost is, but personally I'd just get a taxi or phone a friend on the odd occasion required. I've required assistance twice in 15yrs of commuting.

Broadly agree, but if I was doing a more adventurous Euro cycle epic with no backup (#MrsMikeIOW🫣), I think I’d be tempted to take out that!
On my LEJoG 4 years ago, I had the left crank arm detach - foot still in toe-clip gently holding the arm!
Not a job I could fix by the wayside….but luckily I only had a short uphill walk then a SEVEN mile downhill glide to my overnight pub accommodation….I literally free-wheeled the entire way 😂
Not only that, but the pub was conveniently 1 minute from Bike-It in Radstock. They got me back on the road by 10am, which was nothing short of a small miracle!
