C2W - More Bikes Than Spaces?

My employer is bringing in a C2W scheme. I currently own a bike I use to commute on every day so don't need use of the C2W.
There is currently a bike stand in the secure car park with a capacity of 5 bikes, 3 of which are used on a regular basis. My concern if other employees use C2W to cycle to work there may be more bikes than storage spaces. I understand secure parking for my bike a is privilege not a right but am a little concerned I'll come in one day with no where to park!
Has anybody had any experience of running out of space at work to store their bike? Any suggestions as to what can be done if this happens?

Yes does happen, the thing is .... Get there EARLY, then it's someone else's problem. If not then there are about 8 stands on the road immediately outside my building.

There is a horse statue in the courtyard, I've seen him utilised on occasion!

Can you not raise it with the Employer as a potential issue? They might already have a plan in place...

don't worry - very few will be used to actually cycle to work on

anything like our place, they’ll take a year to address the issue then put a high volume, ‘dogs danglies’ shelter, in a completely inappropriate place. Thereby addressing the problem by discouraging cyclists...

Yeah, I end up locking my bike out of the way to railings and things inside the building.

They at one point added an expensive dogs danglies looking shelter, but the 'secure' points are just bolted to the ground with one regular hex bolt either side lol! No thanks.

I had a chat with HR this afternoon.

They were of the opinion that the company didn't want to have to invest money in additional storage but did appreciate if they were encouraging people to cycle in the would be more demand. Should the number of bikes increase they will look at other areas of the building to store them. An out of use floor of office space was mentioned!

Guess it all depends on take up of the C2W scheme. Time will tell....

If there is a big take up, your company will be a few quid better off (from my understanding) in their tax & NI contributions being reduced too. could always mention that & ask if the savings could be utilised
