In the 3 years that I have been MTB'ing I have never had aching calfs, it has always been my thighs that have taken the brunt. Untill a few days ago anyway. I have noticed / am feeling my calfs starting to get used and thus are now letting me know about it. I have been doing a little extra hill riding but am wondering if that is the only reason.
Any thoughts?

The increase in hill work may well be the answer. Do you ride clipless?

Think my body is adapting as the calves are getting larger and they are not aching any longer. If only I could shift my gut (there since Thyroide packed up) I might like my body again!
