Calling Fulcrum Racing 7 owners

Had mine a couple of weeks now. Nice wheel, but a very noisy free wheel. When coasting, it is louder than my son's Toys 'r' us special.

This is really getting to me to the point where I don't want to ride the bike anymore.

Are all Racing 7s the same?

My LBS recomendation was to rebuild with a better hub.

Any suggestions?

Ah, the joys of Campag freehubs ;)

My Racing 5s are very noisy.
I'm told that if it's Shimano it's noisy but the Campag version is quiet.

Dunno, only bothers me if I go out with Mrs W, where I'm quite a bit quicker and so spend a lot of time dawdling along.
Out riding alone or in a quicker group I might notice it but it doesn't bother me.

Simple answer - don't freewheel ! Keep pedalling like it was a fixie.

Don't know if it'll work with Fulcrum/Campag hubs, but the last time I had an excessively noisy freewheel, it was silenced by packing the bit the pawls fit into (sorry about the technical language) with thick grease.

Well I have Racing 1's with Shimano and Racing Zero's with Camy and they are both as loud as each other and I love it, what a great noise. Great for reminding numpty commuters how slow they are as well.
