That's interesting to hear about contact less. So if there are two of you, you'd each use your own Debit card, and only be charged upto the maximum each.

Much quicker than queueing for a card at Euston.

If you haven't got contactless then it's well worth buying an Oyster , use on Buses , Tubes , Overground and National Trains on certain journeys , and not to confuse things. , Overgound is a TFL form of transit , similar to tubes but goes overland ,so if your lucky like me ,( I have all four ways to travel from Richmond )to go wherever in London you want to go is quite easy and not to expensive , the cost depends on how many zones you travel through

Also they don't expire. We got the outlaws some years ago. They use as and when we allow them down into london.

Until the last train that night iirc
ie until 4.30am or such like.

Valid from start of normal bus services through till the last Nightbus. I have used a 1 day paper travel card at 05.55 on the N8 to get me to leytonstone tube.

on the tube its first service to last service which can be early early next morning.

easiest by far is using contactless. or if no contactless like tesco bank ( cmon FFS get into the 21st century) then pre order an oyster online and it will arrive with whatever you want PAYG on it. like most of the previous posts have indicated ;)

Nice one

Do the times assume I'm a London commuter ("get out of my farkin' way) or, at the other end of the scale, a 40-strong Milanese teenage school group?
It does make one huge assumption - that you know the way!

I often use the tube in that "Oh, shoot, I think I'm lost" moment, just to get me back to somewhere I know and many a time I've walked that far underground to the line I need I am sure I could have walked all the way to the destination in the same time.
