UPDATE - The follow up vets appointment on Tuesday was postponed until Thursday by the vets, however in the meantime the blood problems have decreased, (not stopped though), presumably helped by the steroid and antibac shots he had on Sunday.
So on Thrusday we decided to go with an initial blood test, and the result on Friday was his remaining thyroid is borderline and this is what the vet suspects is making his appetite so high. So he's now got a months supply of Felimazole tablets and has to have one a day. We go back in three weeks and go from there.

Cheers LB, TBH tablets have always been a nightmare with him, but that said he has been taking these OK when hidden in meat.
