Apparently a large glass of wine has the same calorific content as a doughnut. In its article on the subject the BBC illustrates this with the following photo. I think rockymountain was the model.

They were going on about this on the radio this morning as I was driving to work. I don't believe it, load of bollocks if you ask me.

It's about an informed choice; I stopped drinking alcohol to help lose weight in 2011 and have stayed off it.

Most people I've spoken to don't think alcohol contains calories!

Okay i am going to match my jam doughnut with a nice vin santo but (and i'm really putting my head above the parapet on this one) i reckon a normal doughnut (without any filling) would go nicely with a sweet german Riesling.

They had Thornbridge Wild Swan on at the local on Wed night, I had some and felt marvellous afterwards.
True. I've often noticed that after a few pints of health beverage that I feel so well I don't feel I need to ride my bicycle ....

Nah, fresh ring Do-nuts with a strong black coffee and a single Malt (a nice smooth/sweetish one, Glenmorangie maybe) :hungry::cheers:
