Hi I had to take out the wavy washer on my chain set because it stopped the chain set from rotating smoothly will it be a problem if its taken out.

Without the wavy washer there may be movement in the axle.

As I understand it the washer compensates for small differences in the bb shell width and tightens everything with the correct preload.

When you are tightening up now there will be no preload.

It sounds like you need to go back and check you have everthing assembled correctly.
