Very comfy I am sure but I am nervous as hell about damaging my lovely Exped Downmat 7. And that device still means you are sitting on the ground - comfy ground, but still ground.

If I can find mounting points I think my Exped hammock may be the biz.... http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Exped_Hammock/5360023800/

Jay you do realise that the anchor points don't just float in mid air like that!

If there's only ground to work with you'd better try sitting on it

Take a look at Exped's video demo'ing the chairkit, it looks bloody comfy, and it'll protect the mat pretty well too, unless you normally camp up on glass shards?!

Well, the Exped arrived and I must say it is definitely more comfy than my Thermarest - on the dining room floor anyway - so I am looking forward to trying it out in anger.

The bad news is that it won't fit my Thermarest chair, but having seen the Exped video

their design looks much better than the Thermarest which is a bit like wresting snakes in jelly to get on. The Exped model actually protects the bed, and you can sleep on it without having a late night wrestling match, so there goes another forty quid!

Ah! I didn't need to know that - I'm going away for three months at the end of may and got the other half an exped symat for comfort and a separate chair contraption thing seeing as her thermarest chair would be redundant! £40 is just a bit steep though and at least this other chair can be used on whatever rocky ground we find ourselves on without any worry.
