Just opened this thread and saw none other than a thunder bug on my desk. And I've just heard thunder.

You could tell us their Latin name.

Genus: Thrips
There are about 6000 different species with morphological differences so small you would have to be a real expert to tell them apart.
I admit to using google a bit here!
