I have got some bamboo socks. They are surprisingly soft, but not had them long, (less than six feet, Aperitif, yes I know ) so I cannot judge how long they last.

My two favourite l/s winter weight base layers are bamboo. I likes them a lot and very rarely pick anything else to wear. Very comfy and non stinky.

yeah they are very good and sustainable too compared to cotton and synth materials

They seem OK, have one of these http://www.blasttheoutdoors.com/blast_the_outdoors_2007_010.htm As stated above very soft and not supposed to retain "that" odour like Hellys do.

Got some socks also but not worn them yet.

I have used a bamboo towel and was incredibly impressed with its softness and absorbency... but never thought of it for clothing. I'd give it a go!
