Now, if we all coloured ourselves in like tarmac, then there would be no need for any white bike paintings. All a driver would have to do is notice the road surface and he'd be reminded of us, and would take more care.

Might be more SMIDSYs though.....

Driver: Get on the cyclepath!
Cyclist: According to the signs on the road I am on one!

That makes sense to me.

I don't know. Having the signs on the road at least brings cyclists within a whisker of the drivers consciousness. It might also reduce the likelihood of a driver having the 'cyclists shouldn't be on the road' attitude.

Yes, you've got the idea, Magnatom. Sharrows trials in the US found that they had a discernible and postive effect on motorist and cyclist behavior.

Typical idiot at about 1.25 - parked on the zig-zags, I thought you might have got a complete video with no muppet drivers on... but he/she let you down.

Lol.

Nice speed there, it was really difficult to see the rope attached to the back of the van too, so well done for that!;)

The guy in the Merc? He did a dodgy overtake on the solid white lines a few moment before the video starts. That's Harrow College on the left, drivers love to stop there to drop people off!

EMD you ride just like me when I am in the 'grove' but you do have to think that a car/van stop a LOT faster then we can. So what I have started to do is ride where there lights are (if I am behind them) so at least I have a chance to miss them. As one or two have brake tested me in the past.

That's my kind of riding (but faster), good solid stuff, none of this poncy Cyclecraft poo. Into the groove and ride.

LOL, that's just a ridiculous statement! Apart from the undertake, what's not "cyclecraft" about this ride?

I was on my mobile whilst balancing a cup of hot coffee on my lap!

Actually, BM, that go me thinking. I remember seeing that shirt that cyclists can wear that shows their speed to people following (not sure how that helps). But what if the shirt showed a count of how many cars you had passed that day. Now that would be a shirt I would buy!

(and no, it would not register negative numbers!)

Should've inserted a winky smiley at the end. Thought I had actually.

EMD what speed were you doing. I thought I saw the van brake for a speed camera and you were right there with him.
