He's nice now but what about the time when you have to kill him? Hmm? You can't be so callous as to let a stranger do it so it's probably best to think ahead about the method you'll employ in 12-15 years or so. Probably the most humane is to wait while he's asleep (he'll doubtless be doing a lot of that by then) and sticking a tight plastic bag over his head. Best wait till the kids/grandkids are at school.

What's everyone else's preferred method?

Yes, I agree.

My niece's Border Terrier has recently won four rosettes for agility. They said he was so pleased with himself, that he could hardly fit his head back through his collar.

Rascal is a lighter colour than Baxter, more sort of golden brown.
