Can my daughter get travel insurance?

Good morning,
Perhaps accidentally say shes still in the UK now and not due in the ROI until tomorrow...?
Excellent idea, ideally use a landline in Dublin, that way the insurer/broker can be sure that she is lying and add her to the Insurance Fraud Database immediately.

This will save her heaps of time not only with travel insurance, but also with car and household insurance, knowing that virtually nobody will cover her means that she doesn't need to worry about if she is getting the best deal or not.

Bye

That's fine until she may need to make a claim. It is possible they could look back at the details of the trip and refuse to pay if they found out she had stretched the truth a bit, mistakenly or otherwise.

Insurance companies have been known to try to wriggle out of payment on technicalities.
If someone is claiming for an injury in Marakesh on Friday it is not necessary to to prove they were in Dublin the previous Monday. Any court would laugh at any firm that tried to claim otherwise if a punter dug their heels in over that. It wouldn't be reasonable, proportionate or necessary so meets none of the tests.

You are right though, the sensible and honest thing to do is to be ooen and honest

Tell her to go North over the border and then she is in the UK. Unless Brexit changed that as well.
Already suggested in post #8.

To answer the question in the thread title, the answer has to be no, surely. Morocco has cancelled all incoming flights from anywhere for at least the next two weeks due to the Omicron variant.

Where will she fly to Morocco from - maybe a change in plans so she departs the UK - maybe comes home for a 'night' and it's a separate trip. ? TBH, she might be scuppered - left it too late. Anything you can get is a bonus.

Daughter just asked us at weekend that her boyfriend and his mate (not the brightest pair) have just booked 4 days in Norway in January, can she go.

We said 'have you seen the news about isolation when you come back ? - pre booked PCR then stay in the house until clear - 4 day trip could be 7-8 days (i.e. not going to college) and the additional cost of testing. "Erm, oh.. I didn't know, good reason not to go". Unfortunately her boyfriend isn't the brightest button.

Morocco may end up on the red list given the spread on that continent - big cost when she comes back - she may need to budget for that - insurance will likely not cover it.

A colleague who I thought was going home to SA, is actually going to Kenya for Christmas - that may not happen now - her anxiety is terrible.

Well that's one way to solve the problem. *sigh*

Thanks for all suggestions - much appreciated.
