I hope this doesn't sound too cheeky.
I am trying to work out a 100 mile route in Cheshire..............preferably with fewest hills possible. What is causing the problem is that I am trying to avoid ALL or most of the busy 'A' roads by going through the small villages.
I have tried a few of the route planning web-sites but as a technophobe, am struggling.
I know the distance from my home to point 'A'............and I know the distance of the final leg (from Antrobus). I just need 70 miles in between . I am hoping that...........if I list the villages/places I am planning to go through then someone with one of these Strava type gizmos can advise me.
So............
Start point is Warburton Bridge (just off the A57...10 miles south east of Warrington)...............then
Lymm>>>High Legh>>>>Alderley Edge>>>>then south east to a place called Warren (right of the A34)>>>>south west to Swettenham.
At this point I plan to start home by...............
north west>>>>Goostrey>>>>>>north west to the final leg........... Antrobus.
As I say........I hope its not too cheeky as I have tried several different route planners without success.

Have you tried mapping your ride out with mapmyride or ridewithgps? You should be able to try different routes to get your desired mileage.

If by Warren you mean Gawsworth (top tiffin in the community shop)

this is pretty much what you've asked for http://ridewithgps.com/routes/11944870

BUT, it's not long enough and northwest from Goostrey is going to leave you trying to cross the A556 where it's virtually impossible and will always put you on the main road at Lostock Graham

This is close, you will need a couple extra miles in the lanes after Antrobus

It's bit meandering to make up the distance, you will note it uses the the A5033 in Knutsford for about 400 metres, its a 30 zone, I've never had any trouble but its up to you. The A556 is a major barrier to cycling in this part of the world

That second link is a lovely route, but did the OP not want 100 miles?

Just before your 60km marker you can follow the lanes south west to Haslington and come back up through Middlewich to Goostry which should add on a few more miles and only a bit on main road through Middlewich

Try these: 100km and 100 miles give or take. I've assumed that you are starting AND finishing at Warburton Bridge, and that Antrobus was 'on your way home'.

I have tried various planning aids but e.g. one of them is determined to measure "as the crow flies" and another keeps deciding that my chosed route is wrong and cuts out whole sections..........very annoying.
I will try your suggestion which I have never heard of "ridewithgps"..........thanks

Yes.......Warren is just slightly north/west of Gawstrey.
If I go from through Lach Dennis & Lostock Green the road appears to go either over or under the A556 (just looking at the atlas)
For some reason I can't open your links by clicking on them.........I will put them in the search bar ans see if that works.
Many thanks.

Thanks.
I already have 15 miles from home to point 'A' (Warburton Bridge) plus another 15 from Anrobus to home..................so I need 70 from point 'A' to Antrobus.
